Jordan & Adam at Margaret Place New Orleans
When I asked Jordan what her favorite part of the day was, this is what she had to say:
“That’s so tough to answer. so many people have asked me if there was anything I would change about that weekend and I say, absolutely not. New Orleans is such a perfect city because it hosts itself. There is a slice of New Orleans for every type of person, which is why it was perfect for our destination wedding. I have to say that my favorite part was sitting at dinner, after we finished the second line, having just enjoyed champagne/raw oysters during the cocktail hour, and I got to see everyone I love smiling + laughing at our wedding. it was a rare and beautiful moment.” -Jordan Bowe
for me, Jordan and Adam’s first look moments were my favorite part of the day. while first looks aren’t the start of all the wedding day magic, it is where “feels” start to get real! emotions overcame Adam, and joy overcame Jordan that can be felt through the images. Happy tears need no explanation to those of us who know the feeling of everything finally, falling into place. having a first look prioritized their time allotting a variety of couples portraits (and all of their important photos) to be completed before the ceremony. after their ceremony Jordan and Adam were able to immediately start celebrating with guests for rest of the evening. They kicked off the party with one hell of band & they participated in a traditional New Orleans second line!
The bowe’s are sweeter than beignets. the night prior to the big day I was able to document jordan and adam’s rehearsal dinner at their New Orleans central airbnb. speech after speech, I got the overwhelming feeling that Jordan & Adam are encouragers to everyone they come in contact with. as for film photography, I was heavily encouraged to run wild with any whim that landed on my brain. it was incredible to be given so much creative freedom from a couple. every touch of this wedding felt personal because of jordan’s whimsical approach to detail creation. Jordan’s best friend nicole gifted the couple with videography so that was just another cherry on top.
the jasmine hedges were in full bloom that weekend, a fragrance that still seems to takes me back to this wedding, even over a year later. I understand why the Bowe’s chose margaret place as their venue. I would recommend this venue for any bride looking to stay chic yet experience an “old school New Orleans feel” wedding. the well designed interior of Margaret PLace created trendy backdrops at every corner. The venue itself was immaculate making documenting photos seamless. New Orleans architecture, while often thought of as a “French Colonial” style, in fact is an architectural style developed specifically in NOLA. A melding of French, Spanish & Caribbean architectural influences in conjunction with the demands of the hot, humid climate of New Orleans CREATED creole style. Margaret Place indeed housed tall ceilings, orignal wood flooring, detailed crown molding, and antique chandeliers encompassing creole style effortlessly.
As I relive this day through images, I am inspired because of the magnetic energy of this couple & the genuine moments I was lucky enough to be apart of. Through documentation we are able to be apart of a story outside ourselves, again and again.
to the Bowe’s, thank you for having us be apart of your story.
you made love look like art.
with champagne and laughter,
